What We Do

Four lines of work,
one standard of care.

Stonehenge Trust is a boutique EHS&S practice serving the chemical distribution and manufacturing sector. We don't chase scope — each engagement is shaped around the regulatory reality of the operator and delivered by the same hands that scoped it.

01Practice Area

ACD Responsible Distribution

Third-party verification preparation, RD23 advising and gap analysis for chemical distributors operating under the Alliance for Chemical Distribution's Responsible Distribution Program.

02Practice Area

ISO Management Systems

ISO 9001 quality, 14001 environmental, and 45001 occupational health & safety — system design, documentation, internal audit, and stage-1/stage-2 certification support.

03Practice Area

Who We Serve

Six sectors where our work lives.

We work with operators whose regulatory obligations are continuous, not episodic — and whose compliance posture has to hold across verifiers, agencies, and time.

I-01

Chemical Distributors

ACD member distributors preparing for or maintaining Responsible Distribution verification.

I-02

Specialty Chemical Manufacturers

Formulators and producers with ISO 9001/14001/45001 obligations and EPA air or wastewater permits.

I-03

Warehouses & 3PLs

Bulk-liquid, drum, and IBC operators carrying SPCC, RCRA, and DOT obligations.

I-04

Bulk Carriers & Intermodal

Motor carriers and rail-intermodal operators moving hazmat under DOT and ACD verifier scope.

I-05

Importers & Tollers

TSCA importer-of-record support, PMN/SNUR strategy, and toll-manufacturing compliance.

I-06

Laboratories & R&D

Research operations with EPA, OSHA, and ISO 17025 adjacent obligations.

The Standard

What we hold ourselves to.

We are a small firm. Three principles shape how we take on, scope, and deliver work.

I

Permanence

Work product is built to be referenced again — by verifiers, auditors, regulators, successors. Documentation that outlasts the engagement.

II

Fiduciary

Compliance is held in trust. Every deliverable is owed to a standard, not a stakeholder. We carry the obligation.

III

Restraint

Boutique by design. Small bench, deep work. We take on what we can deliver, and we deliver what we take on.

ACD Verification

Responsible Distribution, verifier-ready.

ACD third-party verification turns on documentation, training, and discipline. We support distributors through the full cycle — gap analysis, remediation, training, and the internal mock verification that makes the real one a formality.

ACD · Verification CycleRD23 · 2026
  1. 01
    Gap Analysis

Review of current EHS&S documentation against the ACD Responsible Distribution code. Findings package with a remediation plan.

  2. 02
    Remediation & Training

Policy and procedure build, recordkeeping, and on-site or online training of senior management and front-line operators.

  3. 03
    Verification Readiness

Internal mock verification, evidence package assembly, and walkthrough of the third-party verifier's likely line of inquiry.

  4. 04
    Continuous Improvement

Between-cycle cadence — refresher training, regulatory horizon scan, recordkeeping discipline, and verification renewal planning.

Common Questions

Answers we give on every first call.

Practical, declarative answers to the questions buyers ask before they even open a scoping conversation. If yours isn't here, write to info@stonehengetrust.com.

Q01

What is ACD Responsible Distribution?

ACD Responsible Distribution is the Alliance for Chemical Distribution's third-party-verified EHS&S program for chemical distributors. It covers management commitment, regulatory compliance, employee training, product stewardship, security, emergency response, transportation, and continuous improvement. Member companies are verified against the Responsible Distribution code on a recurring cycle by approved external verifiers.
Q02

Who needs ACD Responsible Distribution verification?

ACD member chemical distributors must complete third-party verification against the Responsible Distribution code as a condition of membership. Non-members increasingly pursue equivalent verification to meet customer purchasing requirements, insurance criteria, and supply-chain due-diligence expectations.
Q03

How is ACD Responsible Distribution different from ISO 14001?

ISO 14001 is a generic environmental management system standard applicable to any industry, verified by accredited registrars. ACD Responsible Distribution is chemical-distribution-specific, covering EHS, security, transportation, and product stewardship together, and verified by ACD-approved third parties. Many distributors hold both: ISO 14001 for general environmental management and ACD for distribution-specific obligations.
Q04

What chemical-industry sectors does Stonehenge Trust serve?

Stonehenge Trust serves chemical distributors, chemical warehouses and 3PL operators handling hazardous materials, bulk chemical carriers (rail, truck, intermodal), specialty chemical manufacturers and formulators, importers of record for regulated chemical products, and food-grade or process manufacturers with overlapping ISO and EPA programs.
Q05

What jurisdictions does Stonehenge Trust cover for EPA work?

Stonehenge Trust covers federal EPA programs across all 50 US states, with state-agency overlays as required by the operating facility's location. Common federal frameworks include TSCA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act (Title V, NESHAP, NSPS), the Clean Water Act, and SPCC. State-level air, water, and waste regulations are addressed alongside the federal baseline.
Q06

How long does a typical ACD verification project take?

A first-time ACD verification engagement typically runs 4 to 9 months end to end: gap assessment and scope (4–6 weeks), documentation build and remediation (8–16 weeks), internal audit and management review (4–6 weeks), and verifier window scheduling. Recurring re-verification cycles are tighter, usually 2 to 4 months, depending on the scope of changes since the prior cycle.
Q07

Is Stonehenge Trust an ACD-accredited verifier?

Stonehenge Trust is an advisory and audit-preparation firm, not an ACD-accredited third-party verifier. We prepare distributor and warehouse operators for verification, build the EHS&S management system and the verifier-ready documentation package, and run internal audits. Independent third-party verification is then performed by an ACD-approved external verifier.
